I Need a Snake!

We recently discovered children's book author Lynne Jonell and gobbled up all of her books in our library.  Such sweet illustrations and very authentic stories.  I can just hear my kids' voices through the boys in her stories, which are inspired on her own children.  I think my favorite is When Mommy Was Mad.  Ava's favorite seems to be I Need a Snake!  After we read it, she disappeared into her room and came back with this "glowious gold snake!"  The snake now goes everywhere with us.

I sent this picture to the author to show her how much we are enjoying her books and got a lovely email back, so that made the books even more fun.
