Impressionist Landscapes

We used this as a somewhat relevant rabbit-trail from our study on the Hudson River School.  I walked my middle schoolers through the process, making them use their left hands, and pushing them to layer on color and use texture to change the way the painting started out.  Some hated it, some found it really freeing to paint imprecisely.  Some are not quite done, but I had to take advantage of remembering my camera!

Most of these are fields and bushes with sky, but one opted for a pond instead of sky.

This one is sand and ocean.
